Switzerland
Mom just finished editing a piece of fiction for an author who lives on the Island. I’m actually very pleased she was able to do this! Being in proximity to the client (rather than two states away), and the writing being fiction are likely what made this work for her. Either way, it must have been validating for mom.
What I just discovered, however, is that she, in sharing the highlights of her editing career with this author, told him she and the authors of her ‘career cornerstone book’ went to Switzerland for its publication. This book was published in CA. My mother has only been to Europe once, and that trip was many, many years after the publication of book that highlighted her editing career.
