48 Edges

Extreme Painting could become a competitive sport. It’d be almost as exciting as watching people play poker. After finishing with the bathroom painting on Thursday, I realized there were 48 edges (yes, I actually counted them all) to carefully paint around. Mirror, cabinet, toilet, window, tile interfaces, and dad’s homemade towel hangers, which accounted for 16 total edges all by themselves. I tried taking one of them off the wall. It refused to budge. Rather than risking Sheetrock damage, and repair, more careful edging was the course of least resistance. Protecting areas from paint with tape has always made me impatient, and never worked well, with paint leaking under the tape. By the time one masks off 48 edges, one could have carefully painted around them all, and so I do.
