We took in the botanical gardens today. They are an hour’s cab ride away, sport an amazing restaurant, and over 60 acres, laced with paths and bordered by a river, that we cooled our hard-working feet in. The foliage (birds and butterflies) was amazing, and has me thinking about where to insert a tropical style garden on our USDA zone 7B property. It was very inspiring.

The cab ride was 27 air conditioned dollars each way. There is no where in the US that four people can procure 2 hours of private transportation for $54 to go 40 miles round trip.

We ended the day with a lazy dip in the pool, and then a really good dinner (second meal today where a restaurant was really focused on my GF situation) at an Italian place across from our condo complex.
