New Car
We took a few hours today to buy my husband a new car. His old car, like a beloved, and very old pet, was giving him all the signs that it was time to let go, and sure enough blew its head gasket on the 10th. Rather than infuse the $7000 it would take to get the old car into the best running condition achievable (a 2001 vehicle with over 230K miles, and a myriad of additional issues), we opted to put that money down on a brand new 2018 Subaru Forester. My husband’s first brand new vehicle.
I am SO pleased for my Sweetie. He works hard, commutes 50 miles a day 3-5 days a week, which in our region can take 40 to 75 minutes each way depending on the whims of the traffic gods, and the driving skills of those around you. I am particularly happy for him in that his main mode of transportation will no longer be a source of distraction (think about no fan in cold weather, makes it hard to see out of your windshield…), take time to deal with, cost money to repair etc. The new car is estimated to get 50% better gas mileage, is vastly more comfy, technologically up-to-date, and safer. One of his favorite features… A huge moon roof!
