Monthly Annual Review

This evening I reread my posts from July of 2017. The perspective was enlightening and helpful. It shows how mom’s paranoia has eased off of surrounding imagined happenings, or confabulations. She’s no longer conversationally fixated on Dr. G’s supposed visit, but now merely, occasionally refers to the ‘visit.’  Yes, she still obsesses, yet it’s about physical/social things in her environment. The thermostat, or medications… Overall the chaotic nature of mom’s communications have calmed in the last year.

Going forward I’ll repeat this exercise each month. Perspective is such a good thing, even when it shows you your loved one’s disease is advancing.
