July 2018 Island Trip – Day 2
Today is simpler than yesterday, though loading mom’s three huge plants in the extended cab of the truck took some doing. They are wearing seatbelts, and all need deep watering and transplanting. The load going back is much smaller and doesn’t need tying down.
The Amazing neighbor and his wife stopped by. I gave him money for the deck lumber and they gave me zucchini and blueberries. Seems like a fair exchange! He is strongly encouraging me to run a buffer over the wood floors, which are badly discolored in places. He pointed out that there are bats living in the chimney as evidenced by poop on the new deck.
It’s shaping up to be another beautiful and hot day here on the Island. It’s time for me to pack up the last couple of things and head to the ferry.
