Reassuring Signs From The Human Race

As bumped into at the grocery store… I all but walked into a former guitarist of mine at the local grocery today. The same guitarist who quit the band just before he was about to be fired. He’s dyed his hair a fetching blue, and added 50 additional pounds to his healthy frame. We talked for a solid 20-minutes. He’s gone back to school while on unemployment, and is a completely different person. I saw inklings of who I ran into today earlier this year when we both sat-in with my tenant’s band, but this is the first time he and I have ever talked solo. I was reassured and impressed by his candor, transparency, attention to the details of the conversation, and how relaxed he was.

I marvel at how people can change, or how my experience of them can shift for the better.
