Christmas Calling

Yesterday my mother-in-law told my DH that mom has been calling her over the last two or three weeks (three times), saying that I haven’t been returning mom’s calls regarding Christmas plans. Mom hasn’t called me for nine days. That call, nor any that preceded it, had anything to do with Christmas plans. I wonder if mom is reflecting back to the phone call flurry that took place after 11/17. Her memory isn’t that calibarated… I don’t know what’s going on, and it doesn’t really matter. Letting her know our Christmas plans, weeks ahead of time, is futile. It’s challenging to keep cool about this sort of thing… Gotta let it roll off my back, like a duck. But a wood duck, because they’re so lovely!
