Work

Work has once again placed me on standby unemployment. A few things transpired to cause this:

  • In the moment the company’s PPP loan funds were used up, I insisted on only working 20 hours a week, rather than 36.
  • They need someone who has more flexibility than I do, and costs less.
  • My program isn’t going to ‘run’ for the foreseeable future. No skilled nursing community is letting outside activities in, nor should they.

I am relieved, and also sorry that the company sounds like it’s struggling. Two weeks ago, my boss conceded one week at 20-hours, and then had the expectation that I would return to 36-hours. Now they don’t have work that they can afford to pay me for. Again, from my end, a relief. I have 4863 things to do.
