Gave Notice

I had a brief meeting with the mainland tenants yesterday to go over things in and about the house that they could do to help ready it for sale. And then I gave them just over 2-months notice. He was circumspect, and she asked if I could put the house sale off until spring. I explained that would mean keeping the estate open for longer than was desirable. They both feel like it’s very short notice. I have every sympathy and stopped short of telling them I, legally, can give them 20-days notice. I know he’s already in problem solving mode, and am concerned that she may feel abandoned. I don’t/won’t take her reaction at all personally. She is very sensitive. I am fond of both of them, and have to be 198% business right now.
