Hospital Charges

12.5 weeks after my mom passed, I finally have both of her insurance EOBs surrounding all the hospital charges. What Medicare didn’t pay for, about $1,550.00, her secondary insurance did, 100%. I hear mom, right now, saying again what a good idea it was have retired from a public university! She was right about that, and for more reasons than good retirement benefits ;->.

There’s an equivalent amount of money left in her FSA account, as well as a similar amount of paid out-of-pocket bills for prescriptions and doctor’s appointments earlier this year. I’ll claim the expenses, and leave nothing on the table. That’s what mom would expect me to do.
