December Island Trip – Day 4
Having started getting ready to go last night I was able to catch an earlier boat this morning. It had been my intention all along to pause at the hardware store on the mainland to return some big PVC connectors we didn’t use, so I turned right once east of the town where you catch the ferry to the Island, and drove over the Roosevelt era bridge onto what I believe is the nation’s largest mainland island (excluding the Hawaiian Islands). We camp at a state park here most years. Once I returned the PVC, I paused at my favorite multi-media arts shop. The drive down the island, as always, was beautiful.
I’m now in line for the very short ferry ride to the mainland, and will be home 5-minutes after exiting this boat. It was a successful mission.
