Archives – Finished

Mom’s archives are on their way to the Getty. It’s an odd relief, both that all that material is heading somewhere that will take care of it, and make it available to others, and that it’s not taking up space in our house anymore. Don’t take that wrong… It’s been good to go through it, learn more about the path of the making of the big book, reminisce about childhood trips taken while working on other books, AND it was not an archive that benefitted me. It’s for scholars, researchers, and the insatiably curious. They can go to the Getty and soak it up. I have pieces that are important to me and some space back, and that’s OK.
