May 2023 Island Trip – Day 8
I was able to get on an earlier boat than my reserved sailing. This put me three hours up on the day, despite hitting Snooze on my alarm for an hour. Yes, I stayed up way too late last night. I paused at a fabric store on the mainland, being ahead of schedule. Interestingly, no fabric had to come home with me 🧐.
I’m starting to trust the time it takes to pull out of the property. The list is long, but each task doesn’t necessarily take all that much time. And Stella is ‘shook down’ enough that there are seldom surprises in closing up.
An additional task this morning was to test drive a deer repellant on the new perennial plantings. It’s suppose to be ‘rain sturdy.’ The tenants will let me know how it goes. I truly think the deer came by, they are curious creatures, to taste the new offerings, and are unimpressed with what they found. I saw no additional damage in the week I was there. Fingers crossed!
I was home mid-afternoon, took a long nap, and then got to see my grandson, daughter, and son-in-law when my son-in-law returned my car (his has been in the shop), and I drove him home. A nice capper on a long day.
