‘25/‘26 New Year’s Island Trip – Day 3

It’s been a quiet day with a little exploration of my DH’s office trailer. We finally went through all the cupboards, inside and out, to see what came with her. There was a propane griddle thing that I posted on the local Buy Nothing board. It’s being picked up tomorrow! I also found the wire doohickies that hold the stove grates down when underway. I’m taking two of them home as we’ve always been missing two for our little Airstream, and the office trailer doesn’t travel. We also decided on some shelving shuffle between the barns, which will further help me figure out where the rest of everything will go in the lower barn: Storage, work space, an area to consolidate the art so it has impact, an area to store/display items I make, a place to sit and visit…

I also finished a second fan cover for Stella. The challenge with this one is that the plastic surround for the fan broke in two corners as I removed it from the ceiling. Fixable, but a bummer. I can’t ask a lot from 26-year old plastic! I am inordinately pleased with these covers. I took notes on making them years ago, and finally have the space to create them. I guess that’s the way it works… The big loud projects scream for attention, get done, and suddenly there’s time to sit and hand stitch earth magnets into fabric facing. Perhaps part of the delight is that there’s time for gentler pursuits these days.

My DH broke out his ‘Galaxy Ball.’ It’s a toy that creates enough of its own rechargeable power, that should you become skilled enough using it, it’ll hover! What we discovered here is that it likes to travel FAR!! Much further than in the house 😏.

No raven or deer sightings so far this trip. I heard a raven this morning, and seeded the barn roof with salmon bits and stale graham crackers. The frogs can be heard here and there, which makes me very happy 🐸!

Padded fan cover, about 15×15.” Goes with the curtain ties!
