April 2026 Island Trip – Day 2

I essentially mowed all day with a lunch break and a ‘gave a super heavy table top’ away break. This to a guy who wants it for the Grange Garden’s soon to be built barn. He’s coming back for a counter weight for his tractor. Sadly he was not interested in any of the other tractor bits. Suffice to say, I’m beat. But…

I couldn’t quite let go, so I fished 80% of the alder branches out from behind of the upper barn, consolidated cardboard for Friday’s recycle run, swept part of the upper barn now that there’s one less thing in it, and rearranged the ladders, and noted that there’s a whole lot of frass on the floor from the reroofing job. I want to buy an electric blower 😏. These buildings aren’t going to ever stay super clean unless I replace the big sliding doors, but it’d be nice of they were easier to tidy up.

There’s very little (riding) mowing left to do. I was slowed down by all the frogs! They’re so small they could sit on a nickel with room to spare, and they’re on the move. Next is to get out the push mower to finesse things, and I found someone to do the line trimming, thank God!

Move along, little buddy!

But tomorrow the rain is suppose to move tasks indoors. I’m OK with that.
