Six Years

My mama took her leave six years ago. Today the anniversary feels like it was longer ago. I anticipate each year will feel different. I can say that as time that goes by, she shows up more and more in my memory pre-illness. Whole, humorous, smart and formidable. Well, she never lost ‘formidable.’ 😏

A trait I know I inherited from mom is the desire to finish things: projects, the taxes, laundry, the pressure washing etc. Our friend Tim thinks I should sit down more often and enjoy the dirty deck in dirty jeans 😅, but there’s such pleasure in having everything put just so. This morning the finishing touches (by others) were completed in our atrium. There are only a few shelves to put up, and we have most of those materials, if not all of them. I spent the morning reclaiming the bulk of the space. Once I’m done penning this, I’ll get on with the shelves and finish the project.

Cheers, Mom!!
