June 2026 Island Trip – Day 6

The weather closed down today. Nothing dramatic, just wet all day long. I was able to finish the grass around the house, and most of the east field before things got too sopping to continue. I also got a couple of loads of laundry done. Even though our clothes line is out of the weather (under the lower barn overhang), I decided I needed to figure out an alternative situation…

Staying here all day always feels like a win. I caught up on some administrative tasks, did some cleaning/sorting both in the barns and the trailer. I’m finding that I’m able to contemplate letting go of additional items of my parents that I didn’t have the headspace to process prior to now. It feels good in that other folks can use them. DH and I are at furniture capacity. Many others are in need.
