July 2026 Island Trip – Day 3

Today was busy but simple. I:

• Got the rest of the rider mowing done. There’s some push mowing to do around the house and the east entrance to the property. It should take about an hour. An improvement over today’s 3.5 hours.
• My neighbor to the east walked over (while I was mowing), and we had a sit for a while. She spelled out the resources that are available here on the Island for Tim. I relayed this intel to his daughter-in-law.
• After lunch, and finishing the last of the ‘big’ mowing, we transferred the cat to my DH’s office, LJG, and I got going with our multitool (very loud and not cat friendly) on the remainder of the carpet. I still need to trim at the cabinet edges, but it’s all out, except the bathroom! I need to look at the install instructions for the toilet and figure out how to get the cowling off. Then out comes the rug!
• Talked to Tim, and while he speaks about being run around by his gut in a serious way, he sounds SO much better than yesterday!! His sly humor is in evidence as his is knowledge base and story telling! I’m so relieved.

We’re making a frozen GF pizza for dinner (DH is on deck 😏). This is something we excel at. Could probably write a fun article about our process when everything else is done 😜. If I think of it, I’ll update this post with a picture of what’s going to be a scrumptious dinner 🍕.
