Post From the Coast!

We headed to our childhood summer stomping grounds on Friday. The gathering is essentially known as ‘Early Days.’ What’s lovely about this is children and grandchildren of original campers are all grandfathered into the group, keeping it multigenerational. My youngest, her husband and son are part of this community as they join us each year. Others, who were our camp councilors, also have their children and grands attend. In some way this gathering, though it’ll never be ‘Summer Camp’ in the way it was when we were kids, perpetuates the community feeling that started when our host’s parents, my parents, and my DH’s parents all converged in the 50’s in Claremont. Should these elders be able to be with us, they would be gratified and proud that we have continued the relationships, community, and values that they fostered in us.
