Vaccinium ovatum
AKA evergreen huckleberry… A native shrub to our greater region.
While at the camp property I picked three cups of these teeny berries (about an 1/8” each), and today made jam. Well, it’s not setting up, so more like a syrup for pancakes, oatmeal, or yogurt. More pectin next time! The color is so dark I had to place a high watt, narrow beam LED behind the jar, plus our orange sunshine, to get a picture of the color of the final product. Kinda stunning.
