Two Vehicles…

The night before last my DH had a brilliant thought and suggested that we take both the car and the truck to the Island. All sorts of packing anxiety (yes, that’s been a thing!) sloughed away! It’s more than all the food and beverages we’re taking for the gathering, but baking dishes for various menu items, hot plates, a beautiful piece my dad used to make oyster’s Rockefeller on that we’ll serve oysters on the half shell on. A few framed photos of my folks, and a larger framed piece the local land trust gave my dad when he retired, as a founding member, from their board. And the usual clothes, returning laundry, electronic devices, a satchel of portable crafts… And we need the truck to move the last of the rounds of alder from the west side of the west drive to the wood shed (at least what we don’t take home) to make way for the contractor who comes in early October to fix (gonna say it again!) the west drive! And yet it’d be nice not to be bombing around in the (11MPG) truck for the last of the acquisitions needed for the gathering 😏.

I signed up to help with dehydrating apples at the Grange on Tuesday morning (for the food bank). In addition to participating in an important community project, I’ll also have a chance to check out, in more detail, the kitchen and AV systems for Saturday. I was given a run through, and I’m handy with AV equipment, but knowing what serving pieces might need importing would be super helpful (soothing…).

We launch in 26 hours!
