September 2026 Island Trip – Day 9

It was a relaxed day, if you consider processing 5 itty bitty loads of laundry relaxing πŸ˜‚. It was at least soothing to get the gathering, guest, and personal laundry done and put away.

Joe was here with his crew to line trim, and OHMIGAWD, does the place look, well, soothing! As I was writing Joe a check, I said it was like taking care of all the split ends. He smiled and understood. He also agreed we were collectively done mowing and trimming for the season. I assured him I’d be calling him in the spring.

Again, it was soothing, to work on the garden in the slope below Stella. I finished trimming the lavenders and am almost done with the catmint. The road contractor is going to place a excavator bucket full of soil below the slope so I can fill in abandoned fox holes and build up behind the rockery at the bottom edge of the slope. It felt really good to tend this space.
