September 2026 Island Trip – Day 13

We’re back at our mainland home. Pulling out was a lot more complicated this time due both to the volume of things we needed to pack out post gathering, and the fact that Stella’s fridge did a big piddle on the (new) floor, and in the drawer beneath the fridge as it defrosted. This happened the trip before last, and I thought it was caused due to me getting water into the fridges exterior hatch while washing the coach. Evidently not! My latest hypothesis is that the pan under the unit that normally guides water out through a known exit has rusted out, or the exit for draining water is blocked. Mama may get a new fridge 😏. Zero dollars get invested in a 27-year old fridge. I will look at the impressive engineering docs, for everything, on this trailer and see if there’s a hose that might have gotten blocked and check it out. If not, the new unit is gonna be 110v only. No propane capability. We just don’t need it. I may use AI to help narrow down our choices, if we need them. That’ll be an interesting experiment.

The last two mornings the property was blanketed in fog. It was beautiful and very unusual. I wish I’d taken a picture… Fall must be here. 🍁🍂

We got into town in time to pick up some lunch from the local Thai place. I asked them for an order of pork pad Thai. Not my usual choice of protein, however their chicken is always dry. We get back to my DH car, I open my lunch, it looks like chicken, tastes like chicken, And is dry 🙄. I quipped to my DH that I can prepare pad Thai better than this (I can), and I feel a review coming on. Did I eat it anyways? Yes I did.

We scored seating on the ferry with a puzzle! My DH napped while I advanced the puzzle for the next person to occupy the seating. Ferry puzzles have taught me to be less of a control freak. This one had a nickel in the middle of the pieces, which I also left for the next person.

The cat is less displeased with us than usual. He’s been very sweet and loving, after he had a romp outside 🐈‍⬛. Now he’s angling for treats!
