July 2023 Island Trip – Day 5
This Farmer/Rockstar life is interfering with my downtime 😂! I got home late last night, to bed after midnight, and up again this morning at 7:45, and then launched into the day. Yeah, not all that bad a night, but it’s the energy output surrounding the sleep (singing used to keep me in shape!) that’s […]
July 2023 Island Trip – Day 4
It was another busy and productive day. I got in a dump run, finished the mowing (hopefully for a while), talked to our AN about a bunch of projects when he came over to put a 6’ ground-rod in for me, went to lunch with my tenants, and then got the electric fence project 75% […]
July 2023 Island Trip – Day 3
Everything on the list was accomplished today, and more. We’ve decided to wait until I’m back next month with the truck before obtaining compost and mulch. The price plus delivery brought out the cheap skate in my tenant, by his own admission. He wants to pay for the compost. The truck is just a big […]
July 2023 Island Trip – Day 1
My DH helped me load his car with my band and Island gear this morning. I can’t pick up the two big powered speakers… In addition to band gear and the usual stuff, I tucked in additional items for the estate sale next month. This may be the fullest his car has ever been! I […]
Photo Overload
I seem to do this every so often. Get overwhelmed by photographs, that is. While pulling out embroidery thread the other day, I also pulled out an identically sized box full of pictures. There’s very little rhyme or reason to what’s in the box, but I am my own victim. I can only guess that […]
RIP
I found out last night that my friend passed Saturday night. His wife wrote the most lovely description of his last number of day being spent on the patio, where he passed, surrounded by the breeze, greenery, family, and bunnies. 💕 I know there’s a kick ass recording studio in his heaven. 🎶
Band Member on Hospice
My friend of 44-years made it home to his family and hospice after sixish weeks in the hospital. He’s been in a tug-of-war with a benign cancer for a bunch of years. Benign means it doesn’t gallop about the body, but it also means, in this case, it quietly stopped responding to chemo and grew […]
Being Selective
I’ve let go of, so far, three reunion souvenir publications of my parents. They didn’t attend any of these events. One, mom’s 40th high school reunion, had a picture of her from the Island, which I cut out and kept, but in the vast number of photos, there was no sign of her or dad. […]
